Great for boys or kids, interesting decor with instruments hanging around, Wii guitar and drums in little lobby, pool table, neat little bar
The stairs are not for the faint at heart, very steep, but do able if your luggage is not to heavy. There is not parking at this hotel.

fun hotel, international guests, as described. clean, comfy beds, nice breakfast. great location. steep stairs, but you are in Amsterdam! great stay - we were a group of 4 mature students - it was ideal if you want a good basic hotel with some character
steep stairs, but not a major problem

Friendly staff. Clean room. Good breakfast. Free internet that worked wel.
Toilet did not flush very well. There was too little water coming from the shower. It is quite easy to hear noises coming from the other rooms. There is a busy street below the window so there is noise also coming from the outside.

During the stay we dealt with 3 different people at the front desk. Each one was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is a well priced hotel and ideally located to discover the city. The breakfast buffet was great and surprisingly even offered eggs and fresh fruit. The challenge of the stairs became a game for our family.
We did try to reach the front desk to ask a question but were notable to connect.

The staff was guite nice, helpful and understanding. The room was very clean, funny with the rock issue every where. The location was in the city but still quiet so it was possible to sleep.

Nice hotel with good rooms and a cool feel. We stayed in a twin room with views over the canal which was great. A lot of hotels in amsterdam look ok from the outside but are dog-rough when you get inside - this was not the case here though. Would recommend it.
The big downside for me was that it is about 25-30 minutes walk from central station and the red light district, which is where we really spent most of our time. Having said that, it is very close to the van gogh museum, and the area round the hotel is lovely - so horses for courses I suppose. In the end it meant that we saw a lot of the city which we might not otherwise have seen as we were walking to/from the hotel/RLD all the time.

We very much liked the staff. They were extremely helpful, patient and nice. The rooms were really original and beautiful. Best quality for its price we've ever had in Adam.

The staff and the ppl at the hotel were very cool, the location was also very good - 1 minute walk from ever-lively Leidse square but not too loud. Free wireless internet, bar, whatever tourist advice you would desire 24/7... So, the place is great, just mind the absense of the lift
